Arts Economic Impact

The economic impact that the arts has on the community can be measured by the amount spent by the non-profits arts organization, and the money spend by the audience that attends a given event. Jobs are created in the arts based upon the total expenditures from both the arts organizations and its audience. The local and state government also receives revenue from license fees, taxes, etc. from individual arts organizations. Americans for the Arts created an Arts and Economic Prosperity Calculator that serves as a useful tool to estimate the economic impact of non-profit arts and culture organizations and their audiences.
