The horror that occured in Conn., in my opinion, is far beyond the mental health and gun control issues. We are seeing similar events, unfolding far too often, as of late; The message?...Seems to be good vs. evil in the Universe. Things are getting darker and darker; from destroying our land, food  and water supplies, to the melt down of families, neighborhoods, communities and humanity.

We can put all of the gun control laws in place that we want (and I am for them), but without human beings understanding that they need to take responsibility for themselves; love themselves, so they then have the capacity to love others, we might as well continue to speculate, regulate and pontificate ourselves into oblivion.

Commpassion, and love can go a long way, they won't change things overnite, but they will evoke change over time. Blaming, shaming and naming does not work. Looking within ourselves to see who we want to be, in this life, fully present in every moment for ourselves, our children, our community, and our world, will allow us to reflect what is positive and loving. But we need to tune in to what our society needs now. Before it's too late. Before no one cares at all.

Wishing peace and compassion for all, this holiday season. Hug yourself, listen to your inner voice, that magnificient Inner Child you probably have forgotten about, and trust in your intuituions.

Gun control, yes. Of course. How could it NOT be?

I like this quote from Rep. Mike Doyle: "If someone wants to own a hunting rifle to hunt, I have no problem with that. If a civilian wishes to have a handgun to protect themselves in their home, I wouldn't have a problem with that. What I do have a problem with is a clip that allows a person to fire 30 or 50 times without reloading, semi-automatic weapons that let you get out 30 bullets as fast as you can pull a trigger," Mr. Doyle said."

(IMHO, there's not a civilian in the world who needs a weapoin designed to kill maximum people at maximum speed.)

But we also need to examine our healthcare system and specifically mental healthcare.

We need to examine ourselves - evil & violence is just part of being human. We need to learn to be kinder to one another, and work hard at resolving differences without animosity or violence.
